Rob Beckman
My first introduction into shooting was at the age of 10 when I attended Boy Scout summer camp and since then I have expanded my knowledge of the shooting sports, self defense, and teaching them.
I have been an Ohio CCW holder for over 10 years now and over 8 years as a NRA Instructor. In 2012 I wanted to help others to become quality instructors and was appointed a NRA Training Counselor. Since then I have become one of the few Training Counselors in the US that can offer all the civilian NRA classes and a Regional Counselor for Refuse To Be A Victim (RTBAV). In 2016 I became a USCCA Instructor and Training Counselor using their training my CCW classes.
Something that I challenge everyone to do each day is to learn something new. For me in firearm training I have expanded my knowledge by attending the Glock Armorer and Advanced Armorer courses as well as their Instructor course. I became a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearm Instructors (IALEFI) to take advantage of their training. Outside of firearms I try to stay current on self defense law, non-firearm defense, and medical first aid because knowing how to use a firearm is only a small part of the equation if you want to avoid jail and survive.
Beside teaching I have also written articles for ConcealedCarry.com and have been a guest on their podcast talking about “Training Outside the Box” (eps #40) and “Firing Line First Aid”. (eps #122)
